Toughened glass, also known as tempered glass, is created through a specialized thermal tempering process. By heating annealed glass to around 600°C and then rapidly cooling it with cold air, the glass surface becomes compressively stressed while the center remains tensile. This results in fully tempered glass that is 4-5 times stronger than regular annealed glass of the same thickness.

 

It's important to note that once the glass has undergone the tempering process, it cannot be cut. Therefore, clients must confirm the desired size before production begins.
